Family Camp is an opportunity for couples and families to enjoy a fully outfitted Maine vacation in the company of other friends and families. Come relax and enjoy a vacation that includes active learning opportunities for you, your children, or your grandchildren.

Activities include: hiking, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, nature study, building bird boxes, birdwalks, fishing, yoga and much more. Chewonki's experienced leaders can accommodate your needs and make your vacation as special, relaxing and fun as it can be.

This annual offering has become so popular that we now offer it at two locations: on the Maine Coast at Chewonki’s main campus and at our rustic sporting camps in the heart of the North Woods. We can also design a Custom Family Camp to suit your needs.

A typical day at Family Camp includes the following options:

6:30 AM Early Morning Bird Walk
7:00 Polar Bear Morning Swim
7:30 Breakfast
9-11:00 Choice of activity: Hiking, Sailing, Canoeing, or Kayaking
11:00 General Swim
12:00 Lunch
1-2:00 Rest Hour
2:00-4:00 Choice of activity: Making Bird Houses, Bird Games, Nature Games, Wild Edibles, Arts and Crafts
4:00 General Swim
5:30 Appetizers
6:15 Dinner
