Wilderness Vacations for Audults & Families

General Information

camping

Big Eddy has been the site of a logging camp and then a campground since the early 1900s, when loggers and river drivers stayed there. Today we offer a range of camping options. Our 75-acre campground offers a selection of 62 campsites. We accommodate tents, pop-ups and RV's.

  • Many sites are located on the river’s edge.
  • Most sites are primitive, with a simple firepit and picnic table.
  • Many wilderness sites are a short walk in.
  • Some sites have electricity available during scheduled times of day. Usually 7 hours per day, depending on demand.
  • Some sites have 8’ x 10’ tent platforms
  • Sites vary in size to accommodate between 1 and 6 people.
  • Group sites accommodate up to 12 people.
  • The main area offers hot showers, flushing toilets, boat launch, common area for day use, coffee shop and potable water.
  • Firewood and maps are available for sale.
  • Campground staff can assist you in multiple suggestions for day trips and activities for all ages and interests in the West Branch area.
  • Our campground manager Susan Adams knows the area well. She and her husband Mark have lived in the area for nearly two decades.

    RV Camping at Big Eddy
We have a limited number of sites that can accommodate RVs and pop-ups. Maximum trailer length is 28 feet, and a few sites can accommodate a longer 5th wheeler.

Please note that water, sewer and electricity hookups are not available. However, we do have the ability to fill water tanks. The campground limits personal generator usage to the hours of 7 am to 10 am, and 4 pm to 8 pm daily.  Personal generators should be no more than 2000 watts and less than 60 decibels. Campground staff reserves the right to ask that a non-complying generator be turned off.

The tranquil quality of Big Eddy Campground is something we strive to maintain, and limits to generator usage are designed to maximize the wilderness experience for all of our guests.  If you require a full-service RV park, we suggest Hidden Springs Campground, approximately 20 minutes from Big Eddy.
