Global Climate Change and Renewable Energy Field Trip for High School Classes
Bring your class for a day of learning about climate, global warming, the greenhouse effect, conservation strategies and renewable energy options. Tour our facility to see how our nationally recognized Pathways to a Sustainable Future Program has been working to reduce Chewonki’s fossil fuel use and carbon dioxide emissions with passive solar building construction, solar electricity, solar water heating systems, renewable liquid fuel manufacturing (biodiesel), and New England’s first renewable hydrogen fuel cell backup power system. Hands-on self-exploration stations include wind power, human power, biodiesel, and solar electric.
