Maine is home to much of the wildest land in the Northeast. Areas such as the Bigelow Range, Mahoosuc Notch, and Baxter State Park have many of the qualities of true wilderness. Hiking with backpacks in areas such as these, students gain an appreciation and understanding of the diverse northern forest. This is the perfect setting for considering a broad range of contemporary forest management issues. Little can compare with the sense of accomplishment a student feels at the summit of one of Maine’s wild mountain peaks.

I think the Chewonki experience was about social and physical challenges. [The] reason is beacause of all the challenging activities and events in which you got to know your classmates better.
