Each day we live the integration of academics, work, community, and the natural world that makes Maine Coast Semester a unique school. For example, at 6:45 a.m. each morning we meet outdoors at Gather to hear words from Plato - our philosopher of the day - while other students are already at the farm caring for animals that sustain us.
Throughout the day we turn our focus to different aspects of our life here: mornings are for study, afternoons largely for work, activity, and outdoor exploration (including Science Field Trip), and evenings for study once again. Meals build community each and every day as we share healthy food prepared whenever possible with local and organic ingredients, many from our own farm.
