We are delighted that you would like to send your child to Chewonki. To enroll your child, please use the link below to complete an online registration, or download and complete the registration form and mail it to Chewonki. CampMinder, our database partner, supports our online application. Here are the steps to register:
- Submit registration form and deposit online or by mail.
- Submit scholarship application
- Await director confirmation letter to confirm enrollment in program.
Please note that submitting a registration form online or through the mail does not automatically enroll your child in a Chewonki program. Once your registration has been received, the director will review it for appropriate program placement. Please note that the director may contact you with questions to ensure the most appropriate program placement for your child or to make you aware of a waiting list for the program.
Once the director has made a program determination, you will receive an acknowledgement letter formally welcoming your child to the program. Along with this letter, you will receive additional information regarding payment due dates and health forms. No deposits will be processed until the director confirms the registration.
We require a $600 deposit at the time of registration ($100 for scholarship applicants), which is applied toward tuition. Chewonki accepts checks, credit cards (MasterCard and Visa), and monetary wire transfers. Please call our business office at (207) 882-7323 ext. 134 to answer any questions about tuition payment.
Campers and counselors come from all over the country and the world, representing a variety of interests and backgrounds. We hope that each camper learns to respect ideas and cultures that may differ from their own. A scholarship program allows us to offer the Chewonki experience to a wide cross-section of participants. Campers are accepted without regard to race, color or national origin.
This application and the calculations used are based on those used by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid. Please return the form directly to us. This is a confidential financial statement. Please base your figures on your current tax forms if available. If not, use your previous figures with any notes attached, particularly of any significant changes. Fill out the form completely and as accurately as possible, remembering to include in item #23, the amount you feel is available from your sources for tuition this summer. Most funds awarded are partial tuitions. The maximum awards made assume full need but still require a minimum payment of $600.The application deadline is FEBRUARY 15. We may not be able to make awards until March, but the sooner we have your application on file, the easier it will be for us to ensure we have all of the necessary information. For families who are new to Chewonki, we also ask for two references on the application form.
IMPORTANT: Most applicants have already completed the Registration /Agreement Form indicating their program and session choice. In order to save space in the proper program, a completed Registration/Agreement form and a refundable $100 deposit are requested if you have not already done so. It may be best to call ahead for available spaces if you have not already completed your registration and reserved a space. Scholarship requests usually far exceed the amount of funds available; therefore we cannot guarantee funds to all that apply.
