Adventure Week
Ages 10-14
August 16-20, 2010, $600
This program takes place on Chewonki's 400-acre peninsula in mid-coast Maine. Campers will be living at shore-side campsites, sleeping in 4-person tents on wooden platforms and cooking over open fire pits. Each day the campers will be involved in a morning and afternoon activity with plenty of time for games, swimming and relaxing. Chewonki's most popular activities include: indoor ropes course (the barn climb), sea-kayaking, canoeing, map and compass, trip to the beach at Reid State Park, visit to the Chewonki farm and an evening live-animal program. Our camp is designed to create a relaxed and happy atmosphere with a healthy spirit of fun and cooperation exists. As a member of the group, each camper shares in the responsibilities of wood gathering and splitting, cooking and clean-up, and the setting up and taking down of tents. Although most of our activities and meals take place outdoors, we also offer cozy indoor space in case of inclement weather.
