The Chewonki Foundation traces its roots on Chewonki Neck to the beginning of the 20th century, when an energetic schoolmaster opened a summer camp for boys on the shores of Montsweag Bay. Nearly a century later, we celebrate the creation of a vibrant community for teaching and learning about individual growth, the power of focused, collective effort in a community, with a principal focus on the world around us. Values of conscience, joy for life, caring for others, and stewardship for the natural world have emerged and are a part of everyone's experience here. We are recognized for our leadership in education and conservation, and we invite you to participate in our challenges and successes.
W. Donald Hudson, Jr.
